Happy (Holiday) Weekend

I love Memorial Day weekend; it's like the official 'welcome to summer' party.  I've got a busy weekend planned...a little cocktail + crafts fun with a few girlfriends, a BBQ with friends, and my dad's birthday.  And with a beach vacation on the horizon in a little over a week, I'll also be working. I'm trying to get as much work as I can done before we leave, which is resulting in a few too many late nights.  It's been so long since I've taken a real vacation and I can. not. wait.

What's on your agenda this holiday weekend?  Enjoy!

Clothing Rack: Denim on Denim

chambray shirt   •   denim cut-offs   •   earrings   •   sunnies   •   necklace   •   clutch   •   sandals

Denim on denim is one of those things that can go really bad surprisingly fast. (Trust me...I live in Texas.)  One of my favorite ways to wear it is to pair a casual chambray button down with a pair of cutoffs.  Easy, comfortable & chic...it's a look you can wear spring through summer (just roll up the sleeves when the temperatures rise.)

Now tell me...if this outfit magically appeared in your closet, would you wear it?

Fab Find: Hope in a Jar Night

I have a little secret to share in the form of a new favorite beauty product (I'm talking to you, dry skin types!)  I happen to have pretty dry skin...it immediately gets tight after cleansing and flaky patches are a pretty regular occurrence.  Drinking water and using a super gentle cleanser doesn't seem to do much so when I spotted the claims on the back on the Hope in a Jar Night package I was sold.  The texture is totally different and takes some getting used to, but I saw and felt a difference after one use.  ONE, y'all.  I haven't been using it for long, and it's already made a difference.  Naturally, I had to share it with all of you.

Do you have any dry skin tips?  Have you ever tried this dream cream?  Grab some for yourself here.

My (Gold + White) Desk

Happy Tuesday!  After sharing a peek at my new mirror last week, I thought I'd share another recent edition...a Lulu & Georgia Audrey Lamp.  I'm the kind of gal that needs a clean and organized desk; clutter messes with my creative mojo.  I tried to have one of those beautifully accessorized and styled desks with an eclectic gallery wall or giant mood board above, but both options just felt like too much.  (Weird, I know.)  I've since opted for a more minimalistic look, focusing on a few statement accessories mixed in with items that are purely functional.  It all started with the golden deer...and the Audrey lamp (c/o Lulu & Georgia) was the perfect piece to tie it all together.  I love the oversized scale and the gold detail just plain rocks.  And I try to treat myself to fresh flowers as often as possible; they really are the best inspiration.  The end result is a functional, stylish nook to design and blog from.  What do you think of my pick?

Inspired By: Bright Bonnet Chairs

After brunch on Mother's Day, we wandered around the Mackenzie Child's department in Neiman Marcus. (Mama Fab collects the Courtley Check.)  Erin and I spotted a pair of these bonnet chairs and instantly fell in love.  Since spending five grand on a pair of outdoor chairs isn't gonna happen, I couldn't help but decorate around them virtually.  Since they're so bold, I'd balance them out with some white accessories, and keep things a tiny bit traditional a jute rug and a couple of potted boxwoods.  Dreamy, isn't it?
